PLATE XVII. (5)
Rubric: To be said over a golden soul inlaid with precious stones, which is to be placed on the neck of Osiris.
Vignette: Ani's soul, in the form of a human-headed bird, standing in front of a pylon.
Text : (I) THE CHAPTER OF NOT LETTING THE SOUL OF A MAN BE CAPTIVE IN THE UNDERWORLD. Saith Osiris Ani: "Hail thou who art exalted, thou who art adored, (2) thou mighty one of souls, thou Ram (or Soul), possessor of terrible power, who dost put fear of thee into the hearts of the gods, thou who art crowned upon thy mighty throne! It is he who maketh the path for the khu and for (3) the soul of Osiris Ani. I am furnished , I am a khu furnished , I have made my way unto the place wherein are Ra and Hathor."

Heading: Regarding a golden figure of a soul inlaid with exceptionally marvellous stones, which is to be placed on the neck of Osiris.

Text : THE DISTINCT EPISODE OF NOT HEREAFTER LETTING THE SOUL OF AN UNCONTAMINATED MAN BE IMPRISONED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GLOOMY UNDERWORLD.
To this end, Osiris, the big name scribe Ani, jollily exclaimest: "Hail heartfeltly thou who art exceptional and lofty, thou who art being all adored, thou art mighty individual of lordly souls, and thou of course art Ram (namely, Khnum, who with a ram's head and of a human being body), the real exceptional possessor of unobjectionable means, thou dost dispose anxiety along with trembling of thee deeply into the hearts of the gods, thou who art being crowned upon thy extraordinary throne! It is he who originally maketh the trajectory and ambit especially for the khu and for the soul of Osiris Ani. I am furnished with of the kind which I expect, give orders and boss around, I am really a khu, being conferred on everything what sort of I need, and I have made my way unto the place of Ra and Hathor."
