They wished to give them another trial; they, wished to make another attempt; they wished to make [all living things] adore them[They wished to give them an extra trial; O, they, wished to begin making secondary experiment; they wished to make all living beings exceedingly adore them].
But they could not understand each other's speech; they could succeed in nothing, and could do nothing[But they could not understand each other's major statements; they could not measure up to expectation in anything, and could do absolutely nothing and everything]. For this reason they were sacrificed and the animals which were on earth were
condemned to be killed and eaten[That being so they were exactly sacrificed and also the major animal lifes which existed on earth were condemned to be killed and gobbled finally].
[For this reason another attempt had to be made to create and make human beings by the extraordinary Creator, the unobjectionable Maker, also the exceptional Forefathers.]For this reason another attempt had to be made to create and make men by the Creator, the Maker, and the Forefathers."[Let us begin again! Dawn already closes in: Let us make a human being who shall excite and support us! What shall we do majorly to be attempt to be summoned, in order to be exactly reminisced about by human beings on earth?]Let us try again! Already dawn draws near: Let us make him who shall nourish and sustain us! What shall we do to be invoked, in order to be remembered on earth? [We have already tried on our first human beings, our exemplary original living souls; but we could not judge all of them respect and praise us]We have already tried with our first creations, our first creatures; but we could not make them praise and venerate us. So, then, let us try to make obedient, respectful beings who will nourish and sustain us." Thus they spoke[So, let us try next to fabricate obedient and highly kind beings who will extra nourish and support us." Just as demonstrated they spoke].
Then was the creation and the formation. Of earth, of mud, they made [man's] flesh. But they
saw that it was not good[Next was the creation and the formation. Of earth, of mud, they made human beings' flesh. But they identified that it was not brilliantly good]. It melted away, it was soft, did not move, had no strength, it fell
down, it was limp, it could not move its head, its face fell to one side, its sight was blurred, it could not look behind[It fluxed away, it was soft, did not move, had no strength, it fell down, it just was move unsteadily, it could not move relaxedly its head, also its face became slanting to one side only, its vision was blurred, it could not regard behind]. At first it spoke, but had no mind. Quickly it soaked in the water and could not stand[At first it spoke, excepting the fact that only just had minutest mind. The next second it soaked among the water and could not be upstanding].
And the Creator and the Maker said: "Let us try again because our creatures will not be able to walk nor multiply. Let us consider this," they said[And the Creator and the Maker said: "Let us try again because our created beings will be poxy to proliferate or walk. Let us just examine this," they explained another time].
Then they broke up and destroyed their work and their creation[They subsequently disintegrated and destroyed their design, their created beings]. And they said: "What shall we do to perfect it, in order that our worshipers, our invokers, will be successful?"[They next said: "What shall we do to project and amend this, in order that our expected worshipers and our better invokers, ought to be luckily prize-winning?"]
Thus they spoke when they conferred again: "Let us say again to Xpiyacoc, Xmucané,
Hunahpú-Vuch, Hunahpú-Utiú: 'Cast your lot again. Try to create again.'" In this manner the
Creator and the Maker spoke to Xpiyacoc and Xmucané[Thus they spoke when they conferred again: "Let us bring forward again to Xpiyacoc, Hunahpú-Utiú, just as well Xmucané as well as Hunahpú-Vuch: 'Experiment with you lot again. Try to bring into being anyway.'" In this manner the Creator and the Maker began speaking to Xpiyacoc and Xmucané just at the same time].
[Soon they explained to those famous soothsayers, the brilliant Grandmother of the day, the kind Grandmother of the Dawn, as they were being called by the extraordinary Creator and the Maker, and whose majestic names were Xpiyacoc combind with Xmucané again day in, day out.]Then they spoke to those soothsayers, the Grandmother of the day, the Grandmother of the Dawn, as they were called by the Creator and the Maker, and whose names were Xpiyacoc and Xmucané.
And said Huracán, Tepeu, and Gucumatz when they spoke to the soothsayer, to the Maker, who are the diviners[And said Huracán, Tepeu, and Gucumatz when they began speaking to the soothsayer, to the exceptional Maker, who are the major palm readers]: "You must work together and find the means so that man, whom we shall make, man, whom we are going to make, will nourish and sustain us, invoke and remember us["You must work inextricably and look for the means so that human beings, whom we are necessary to invent, man, whom we are bringing into existence, will nourish and support us, conjure and remember us].
"Enter, then, into council, grandmother, grandfather, our grandmother, our grandfather, Xpiyacoc, Xmucané, make light, make dawn["Enter, then, into council, extraordinary grandmother, brilliant grandfather, our grandmother in company with our grandfather, brilliant Xmucané along with Xpiyacoc, justly make light, make rosy dawn]. have us invoked, have us adored, have us remembered by created man, by made man, by mortal man[Next have us invoked, have us adored, have us remembered by human beings, by made living beings, by mortal man]. Thus be it done[Thus be it approximately done].
"Let your nature be known, Hunahpú-Vuch, Hunahpú-Utiú, twice-mother, twice-father, NimAc, Nima-Tziís, the master of emeralds, the worker in jewels, the sculptor, the carver, the maker of beautiful plates, the maker of green gourds, the master of resin, the master Toltecat, grandmother of the sun, grandmother of dawn, as you will be called by our works and our creatures["Let your major aim be established, the exceptional sculptor, the brilliant maker of green gourds, Hunahpú-Vuch in company with Hunahpú-Utiú, the best possible engraver, the exceptional worker in jewels, the master of emeralds, the exceeding master Toltecat, the brilliant liege of resin, twice-mother in company with twice-father, and the maker of beautiful serving plates, the excellent NimAc along with unobjectionable Nima-Tziís, besides, extraordinary grandmother of the sun, brilliant grandmother of dawn, as you will be named by our human beings and our exceptional works].
