Once I took my daughter to a party at my workplace when she was about 4 years old. One colleague asked her with some hidden and naughty intention, “Tell us, in your home, does mom listen to dad, or dad listens to mom?”
大約在我女兒四歲時，有一次我帶她去單位聚餐會，一名同事有點不懷好意的逗問她道：「在你們家，是媽媽聽爸爸的，還是爸爸聽媽媽的？」
I looked at my daughter nervously, fearing that she would fall into the trap and say something embarrassing.
我很緊張的看著女兒，生怕她當著那麼多同事說出什麼讓我難堪的話來。
She replied with all due seriousness,”In our home, whoever is right has the say. If what I say is right, it is highly possible that everybody listens to me！”
結果她一臉嚴肅地說：「在我們家，誰說得對聽誰的。要是我說得對，說不定還聽我的呢！」
Everybody laughed; and I was so relieved…
在同事們的哄笑聲中，我這口氣鬆得呀……
