鄉愁 Homesickness

When I was young,
My homesickness was a long, long mountain trail,
My father and I were here,
My mother and sisters were there.

小時候，
鄉愁是長長的山路，
我和爸爸在這頭，
媽媽和妹妹在那頭。

After growing up,
My homesickness was a narrow ticket,
I was here,
My hometown was there.

長大後，
鄉愁是一張窄窄的車票，
我在這頭
家鄉在那頭，

Later,
My homesickness was the walls of the forced labor camp,
I was inside,
My family was outside.

後來啊，
鄉愁是勞教所高高的水泥牆，
我在裏頭，
家人在外頭。

And now,
My homesickness is a boundless ocean,
I am here,
My motherland is there.

而現在，
鄉愁是一望無際的太平洋，
我在這頭，
故土在那頭。
