诗经•大雅•板


上帝板板、下民卒癉。出話不然、為猶不遠 。靡聖管管、不實於亶。猶之未遠、是用大諫 。

之(的;又音:)方難、無然憲憲。之(的;又音:)方蹶、無然泄泄。辭之輯矣、民之洽矣。辭之懌矣、民莫矣 。

我雖異事、及爾同僚。我即而謀、聽我囂囂(说明【音同:】)。我言維服、勿以為笑。先民有言、詢于芻蕘 。

天之方虐、無然謔謔。老夫灌灌、小子蹻蹻。匪我言耄、爾用憂謔。多將熇熇、不可救藥 。

天之方懠、無為夸毗。威儀卒迷、善人載尸。民之方殿屎、則莫我敢葵。喪亂蔑資、曾莫惠我師 。

天之牖民、如壎(鸣【音同:】)如篪(鸣【音同:】)。如璋如圭、如取如攜。攜無日益、牖民孔易。民之多辟、無自立辟 。

价人維藩、大師維垣、大邦維屏、大宗維翰、懷德維寧、宗子維城。無俾城壞、無獨斯畏。

白话译文参考

前几句的翻译大逆不道,这一点从英文译文里很容易就可以看出来。《诗经》的用意一是告诫人民要敬畏神,二是用来认证的。假的真不了,真的假不了。三是用来进行道德教育。如这句:The cherishing of virtue secures repose(珍惜美德可以安息)。

《板 - Ban》


God has (simply inverted)reversed [His usual course of procedure (habitual heading of auxiliary procedure and adjustment)],
And the lower (human beings)people are full of (extreme tribulation)distress.
The words which you utter(have been uttering) are (staying) not very right;
The plans which you form(build) are not far-reaching.
As there are not sages, you think (anxiously) you have no guidance(judgement and recommendations);
You have (exactly no reality in your straightforwardness)no reality in your sincerity.
[Thus(That being so)] your (designs)plans do not (all-embracing)reach far,
And I therefore(Exactly I also) strongly admonish you.
  
Heaven is now sending down (judgement) calamities; -
Do not be so complacent(extremely triumphant).
(God)Heaven is now producing such movements(bringing so very campaigns) ; -
Do not be so (unfeeling)indifferent.
If your words were harmonious(extremely amicable),
The people would (join and become associated)become united.  
If your words were gentle and kind(extremely mild and obliging),
The people would be settled(very definite).

  
Though my duties are different from  (responsibilities are clashing with) yours,
I am your (excellent working-class) fellow-servant.
I (just gladly) come to advise with you,
And you hear me with contemptuous(exactly with arrogant) indifference.
My words are about the [present urgent(burning)] affairs; -
Do not (simply) think them matter for laughter.
The ancients had a (big) saying:
'Consult the grass and (expert) firewood-gatherers. '
  
(God)Heaven is now exercising(just appearing and performing) oppression; -
Do not (exactly) in such a way make a mock of things.
An old man, [I speak(exhibit)] with entire (genuineness)sincerity;
But you, my (subordinates)juniors, are full(brimming) of pride.
It (exactly) is not that my words are those of age,
But you make a joke of what is (miserable and) sad.
But the troubles will multiply like flames(be mixed like flames of war),
Till they are (behind help or drug)beyond help or remedy.
  
Heaven is now displaying(simply is now exhibiting exactly) its anger; -
Do not be either boastful or flattering(just flattering or big-mouthed),.
(Absolutely)Utterly departing from all (exalted) propriety of demeanour,
Till good men are (abridged to personators of the slaughtered)reduced to personators of the dead.
The people now (simply) sigh and groan,
And we dare not examine [into the causes(beginnings) of their trouble].
The (existing) ruin and disorder are exhausting(hijacking) all their means of living,
And we show no (extra kindness to our majorities)kindness to our multitudes.
         
Heaven (brings up to speed the many human beings)enlightens the people,
As the bamboo flute (flings back)responds to the porcelain (mixed) whistle;
As two (jammed) half maces form (exceptionally) a whole one;
As you take a thing, and bring it away in your hand,
Bringing (exactly) it away without (just any more fuss)any more ado.
The (mixed cultivation)enlightenment of the people is(human beings are) very (undemanding)easy.
They have [now] (bazillions of pig-headednesses)many perversities; -
Do not you set up your perversity(extreme irrationality) [before(just ahead of) them].
  
Good men are a (shed)fence;
The multitudes of the people(mixed skin of bamboos of the human beings) are (really a fortification)a wall;
Great States are screens(Big Nations are stage curtains);
Great Families are buttresses(Extra big Families are props;);
The cherishing of virtue(Just the adoring of moral) secures (relaxation and) repose;
The circle(bunch) of [the king's] Relatives is a fortified(really a reinforced) wall.
We must not let the fortified(bracing) wall get destroyed(exterminated off);
We must not let him (just) solitary be consumed with terrors.
         
Revere(Extremely worship) the anger of Heaven,
And presume not to make sport or be (loafing)idle.
Revere(Think highly of) the changing moods of Heaven,
And presume not to drive about [at your (meaning)pleasure].
Great Heaven (extremely is able and knowledgeable)is intelligent,
And is with you (just all the times and exactly) in all your goings.
Great(Big) Heaven is clear-seeing,
And is with you in your wandering and indulgences.
