《道德經 - Dao De Jing》



76 人之生也柔弱，其死也堅強（是明【名】明【名】的事实）。萬物草木之生也柔脆，其死也枯槁（是明【名】明【名】的事实）。故堅強者死之徒，柔弱者生之徒。是以兵強則不勝，木強則共。強大處下（低；谐音：帝），柔弱處上。

77 天之（的；又音：帝）道，其猶張弓與？高（意：上）者抑（低；谐音：帝）之，下者舉（上）之；有餘者損之，不足者補之。天之道，損有餘而補不足。人之（的；又音：帝）道，則不然，損不足以奉有餘。孰能有餘以奉天下，唯有道者。是以聖人為而不恃，功成而不處，其不欲見賢。

(A warning against (trusting in) strength)
76 Man at his birth (truly) is supple and (being) weak; at his death(extermination), firm(just adamantine) and strong. (So it is with) all things([extremely it is with] all over world living beings). Trees and plants, (actually) in their early growth, are soft and brittle(brittle and gentle); at their (extermination)death, dry and withered.
Thus it is (just) that firmness and strength are the (exact) concomitants of death; softness and weakness, (being truly) the concomitants of life.
Hence(That being the case) he who (relies on) the strength of his (exceptional) forces does not conquer; and a tree which is strong will fill the out-stretched (major) arms, ([easily exactly invites the laborer]and thereby invites the feller.)
Therefore(That being the case) the place of what (really is strong and stable is in underground)is firm and strong is below, and that (exceptionally) of what is (just weak and mild is above the strong)soft and weak is above.
         

(The way of heaven)
77 May not the Way (or Dao) of Heaven be compared to the (method[way] of) bending a bow? The (part of the bow) which was (in) high is brought low, and what was (exceptionally) low is raised up (and adjusted). (So Heaven) diminishes where there is (exceptional overflow)superabundance, and supplements where there is deficiency(big shortcoming).
It is the Way of Heaven to diminish superabundance, and to (addition shortage)supplement deficiency. It is not so(extremely) with the way of man. He takes (just) away from (these)those who have (exceptionally) not enough to add(subjoin greatly) to his own superabundance.
Who can take his own (glut)superabundance and therewith serve all under heaven(exactly service all over the world subject to firmaments)? Only he who is in possession(exactly in having) of the Dao!
Therefore(That being the so) the ([every] ruling) sage acts without (basically) claiming the results(exceeding payoffs) as his; he achieves(just accomplishes) his (exact) merit and does not rest (arrogantly[overbearingly]) in it: - he does not wish to display his (dominance)superiority.

77 天之道，其猶張弓與？高者抑之，下者舉之；有餘者損之，不足者補之。天之道，損有餘而補不足。人之道，則不然，損不足以奉有餘。孰能有餘以奉天下，唯有道者。是以聖人為而不恃，功成而不處，其不欲見賢。
