易經•彖傳•大有


大有，柔得尊位，大中而上下應之，曰大有。其德剛健而文明，應乎天而時行，是以元亨。



Tuan Zhuan: Da You        


In Da You the weak (line) has the place of honour, is grandly central, and (the strong lines) above and below respond to it. Hence comes its name of Da You (Having what is Great). The attributes (of its component trigrams) are strength and vigour with elegance and brightness. (The ruling line in it) responds to (the ruling line in the symbol of) heaven, and (consequently) its action is (all) at the proper times. In this way (it is said to) indicate great progress and success.

Tuan Zhuan: Da You        


In Da You the weak (line) has the place of honour, is grandly central, and (the strong lines) above and below respond to it[Clearly in Da You the feeble (line) has the region of excellence, is grandiosely major, and (the merged lines) above and below respond to it by exerting an opposite or equal force]. Hence comes its name of Da You (Having what is Great). The attributes (of its component trigrams) are strength and vigour with elegance and brightness[That being so falls by its name of Da You (Having what is being Great).The complexes (of its foundational trigrams) are majority and impressiveness with exquisiteness and gloss]. (The ruling line in it) responds to (the ruling line in the symbol of) heaven, and (consequently) its action is (all) at the proper times[(The below ruling steady line in it) responds to (the above ruling line in the externalisation of) heaven, and its jacked-up all movements are at the exactly appropriate periods]. In this way (it is said to) indicate great progress and success[In this way (it is said to) harbinger great victory and developing].
