Semneh stela marking southern boundary under Sesostris III


Southern boundary, made in year 8 under the majesty of
the king of Upper and Lower Egypt Khakaure, given life forever until eternity,
to prevent that any Nubian should cross it, by sailing north or by land,
with a ship, or any herds of the Nubians,
apart from a Nubian who shall come to trade in Mirgissa, or with a message,or anything good that may be done with them,
but without letting a ship of the Nubians pass that sails north past Abu Sir, forever.

Southern boundary, made in year 8 under the majesty of the king of Upper and Lower Egypt Khakaure, given life forever until eternity, to prevent that any Nubian should cross it, by sailing north or by land, with a ship, [Southern boundary, being established in year Eight extraordinarily below the majesty of dear master of Upper as well as Lower Egypt Khakaure, explicitly granted life forever until beaming eternity, in order to prohibit that any Nubian ought to cross(X) it, by means of begining their journey sail northmost or else either by land, or by a ship.]or any herds of the Nubians, apart from a Nubian who shall come to trade in Mirgissa, or with a message, or anything good that may be done with them, but without letting a ship of the Nubians pass that sails north past Abu Sir, forever.[Excepting that among any herds of the Nubians, who ought to drop in to sell or buy in Mirgissa, or bring any exiciting message or anything enjoyable that may be easily done in close proximity to them. Anyhow prohibit any ship, either big or small, of the Nubians pass by that sails north past Abu Sir, forever.]
