I. Chapter 2 (follow up)

"Cast the lot with your grains of corn and tzité["Cast the lot just in the names of your grains of corn and tzité]. Do it thus and we shall know if we are to make, or carve his mouth and eyes out of wood." Thus the diviners were told[Do it thus and we shall know exactly if we are to bring into existence, or carve his mouth and eyes coming out of wood." That being so the diviners were exceptionally told].
They went down at once to make their divination, and cast their lots with the corn and the tzité[They went down at this juncture all to make their soothsaying, and cast their lots exactly with the tzité and the corn]. "Fate! Creature!" said an old woman and an old man["Fate! The creature being!" yelled an excited old woman and an old man]. And this old man was the one who cast the lots with Tzité, the one called Xpiyacoc[And this old man was the one who cast the lots with Tzité, the one being called Xpiyacoc]. And the old woman was the diviner, the maker, called Chiracán Xmucané[And the old woman was the diviner, the maker, just named as Chiracán Xmucané, instead of Xpiyacoc].
Beginning the divination, they said: "Get together, grasp each other! Speak, that we may
hear."[Beginning the very divination, they said: "Bring together, grasp each other without exception! Speak, that we could hear." ] They said, "Say if it is well that the wood be got together and that it be carved by the
Creator and the Maker, and if this [man of wood] is he who must nourish and sustain us when
there is light when it is day![They just exclaimed, "Say except it is reasonable that the wood be prefabricated and that it be engraved by the intelligent Creator and the Maker, and this creature being of wood except is he who want to nourish and sustain us just at the same time as there exist light among the bright long day]!
"Thou, corn; thou, tzité; thou, fate; thou, creature; get together, take each other," they said to the corn, to the tzité, to fate, to the creature["You, tzité; thou, corn; you, fate; you, creature being; mix in collaboration and in conjunction, claim every single one," they exclaimed to fate, to the creature being, to the tzité in company with to the corn]. "Come to sacrifice here, Heart of Heaven; do not punish Tepeu and Gucumatz!"["Come to do oblation together, expansive Heart of Heaven; do just not blame as well as excruciate Tepeu and also Gucumatz!"]
Then they talked and spoke the truth: "Your figures of wood shall come out well; they shall speak and talk on earth."[Then they began talking the truth: "Your outlines of wood shall bring into existence well; and they ought to jabber at the same time as exclaim always on earth."]
"So may it be," they answered when they spoke["Being that may it be," they replied when they were being asked].
And instantly the figures were made of wood. They looked like men, talked like men, and populated the surface of the earth[Next on the instant the bods were made. They looked just the same as men, talked approximating to human beings, and established a colony in the best covering of the earth].
They existed and multiplied; they had daughters, they had sons, these wooden figures[They existed and reproduced; they had daughters, they had sons, they were just made of timber statures]; but they did not have souls, nor minds, they did not remember their Creator, their Maker; they walked on all fours, aimlessly[but they did not have complex minds, not any souls, human beings, they did not remember anything about their exceptional Creator, their Maker; it seemed that they walked on all fours, just aimlessly].
They no longer remembered the Heart of Heaven and therefore they fell out of favor[They no longer remembered the extensive Heart of Heaven and that being the case they fell into disfavor]. It was merely a trial, an attempt at man. At first they spoke, but their face was without expression; their feet and hands had no strength;[It was basically a casting, an experimentation just at human beings. They expressed initially, however their face was without bearings; their feet and hands had not at any time strength]; they had no blood, nor substance, nor moisture, nor flesh; their cheeks were dry, their feet and hands were dry, and their flesh was yellow[they had no blood, neither tangibility, nor exhalation, and not flesh; their jaws amid cheeks were extreme dry, their feet and also hands were brittle, along with their body tissue was lemon].
Therefore, they no longer thought of their Creator nor their Maker, nor of those who made them and cared for them[That being the case, they no longer thought of their extraordinary Creator nor their Maker, nor of those who made majestically them as well as cared exceptionally for them].
These were the first men who existed in great numbers on the face of the earth[These were the first human beings who got by in great numbers on the face of the earth].
