III. Chapter 5 (Follow up)


Then a man came before Balam-Quitzé, Balam-Acab, Mahucutah, and Iqui-Balam and [this man], who was a messenger of Xibalba, spoke thus: "This is, in truth, your God; this is your support; this is, furthermore, the representation, the memory of your Creator and Maker[Subsequently a special human being came into existence in front of Balam-Quitzé, also Balam-Acab, Mahucutah, and Iqui-Balam and this man, who was just a messenger of Xibalba, spoke about accordingly: "This is, unambivalently, your God; this exactly is all of your support; this justifiably is, moreover, the representation, the memory of your Creator and Maker]. Do not give your fire to the tribes until they present offerings to Tohil[Do not give your extra fire to the all of the tribes until they present offerings to Tohil]. It is not necessary that they give anything to you. Ask Tohil what they should give when they come to receive fire," said the man from Xibalba. He had wings like the wings of a bat. "I am sent by your Creator, your Maker," said the man of Xibalba[Ask Tohil about what in fact they ought to give when they come to receive fire," said the man from Xibalba. Oddly he had wings just the same the wings of a bat. "Exactly I am sent by your Creator, your Maker," said the human being of Xibalba].
They were filled with joy then, and Tohil, Avilix, and Hacavitz were also gladdened when the man from Xibalba spoke, who disappeared instantly from their presence[They were filled with gladness subsequently, Tohil, Avilix, and Hacavitz were gladdened also when the man from Xibalba spoke, who just vanished from their presence expeditiously].
[Although they were dying of cold, but the tribes did not perish as long as they came. All the tribes were trembling and shivering with cold when they came where Balam-Quitzé, Balam-Acab, Mahucutah, and Iqui-Balam were. Their hearts were greatly troubled and their mouths and eyes were sad[All the tribes were extra trembling and shivering with cold just at the time they presented where Balam-Quitzé, Balam-Acab, Mahucutah, and Iqui-Balam existed. Their hearts were enormously bewildered and their mouths along with eyes were agonizing].
In a moment the beggars came before Balam-Quitzé, Balam-Acab, Mahucutah, and IquiBalam and said: "Will you not have pity on us, we only ask a little of your fire?[In a blink of eyes the beggars came before Balam-Quitzé, Balam-Acab, Mahucutah, and IquiBalam and expressed: "Will you not have pity on us, we just ask the smallest amount of your fire?] Perchance, were we not [once] together and reunited? Did we not have the same home and one country when we were created, when we were made? Have mercy, then, on us!" they said[For example, did we not live with each other once and bring together nowadays? Did we not have the same home and one country when we were being exactly designed and also created, just at the time we were shaped? Have mercy, next, in the matter of us!" they said].
"What will you give us so that we shall have mercy on you?" they were asked["What will you give us so that we shall have mercy on you?" the tribes were being asked].
"Well, then, we shall give you money," the tribes answered["Well, subsequently, we shall give you money," the tribes answered back].
["We are not dying for money," next said Balam-Quitzé along with Balam-Acab.]"We do not want money," said Balam-Quitzé and Balam-Acab.
"And what do you want?" [asked the tribes]["And what do you justly have in mind?" questioned the tribes].
"We shall ask now" [said Balam-Quitzé]["We shall ask now" expressed Balam-Quitzé].
"Very well, "said the tribes["beyond a doubt, "said the tribes].
["And we ought to ask Tohil and we shall tell you again," they answered]"We shall ask Tohil and then we shall tell you," they answered.
"What must the tribes give, oh, Tohil! who have come to ask for your fire?" said BalamQuitzé, Balam-Acab, Mahucutah, and Iqui-Balam["What must the tribes give, oh, Tohil! those who have ended up here to beg for your extra fire?" said the foursome, BalamQuitzé, Balam-Acab, Mahucutah, jointly Iqui-Balam].
["Great stuff! Are they expecting to give their waist and also their armpits? Do they want me to embrace them? For if they are not eager to do that, neither is necessary I grant them fire," answered Tohil]"Well! Are they willing to give their waist and their armpits? Do they want me to embrace them? For if they do not want to do that, neither shall I give them fire," answered Tohil.
"Tell them that this shall come later, that they do not have to come now to give me their waist and their armpits. This is what Tohil orders us to tell you, you will say." This was the answer to Balam-Quitzé, Balam-Acab, Mahucutah, and Iqui-Balam["Tell them that this shall come later, that they do not have to bring their waist and armpits to me now. This was exclusively the answer to Balam-Quitzé, Balam-Acab, Mahucutah, and Iqui-Balam.].
Then they took Tohil's message. "Very well, we shall join you and we shall embrace him," they [the people] said when they heard and were told the message from Tohil. And they did not delay in acting. "Good," they said, "but may it be soon!" And immediately they received the fire. Then they became warm[Then they took Tohil's jocular message. "Extraordinary, we shall join you and we shall embrace him," the tribes said when they heard and were told the message from Tohil. And they did not delay in action. "Brilliant," they gladly said, "Excepting that may it be soon!" And immediately they received the fire. Then they just became pleasant and warm].
