Quran
2 The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)

(Following up)

16. Those are they who have bartered error for guidance; but their trade does not profit them, and they are not guided.

17. Their likeness is that of a person who kindled a fire; when it illuminated all around him, God took away their light, and left them in darkness, unable to see.

18. Deaf, dumb, blind. They will not return.

19. Or like a cloudburst from the sky, in which is darkness, and thunder, and lightning. They press their fingers into their ears from the thunderbolts, in fear of death. But God surrounds the disbelievers.

20. The lightning almost snatches their sight away. Whenever it illuminates for them, they walk in it; but when it grows dark over them, they stand still. Had God willed, He could have taken away their hearing and their sight. God is capable of everything.

21. O people! Worship your Lord who created you and those before you, that you may attain piety.

22. He who made the earth a habitat for you, and the sky a structure, and sends water down from the sky, and brings out fruits thereby, as a sustenance for you. Therefore, do not assign rivals to God while you know.

23. And if you are in doubt about what We have revealed to Our servant, then produce a chapter like these, and call your witnesses apart from God, if you are truthful.

24. But if you do not—and you will not—then beware the Fire whose fuel is people and stones, prepared for the disbelievers.

25. And give good news to those who believe and do righteous deeds; that they will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. Whenever they are provided with fruit therefrom as sustenance, they will say, “This is what we were provided with before,” and they will be given the like of it. And they will have pure spouses therein, and they will abide therein forever.

26. God does not shy away from making an example of a gnat, or something above it. As for those who believe, they know that it is the Truth from their Lord. But as for those who disbelieve, they say, “What did God intend by this example?” He leads astray many thereby, and He guides many thereby; but He misleads thereby only the evildoers.

27. Those who violate God’s covenant after its confirmation, and sever what God has commanded to be joined, and commit evil on earth. These are the losers.

28. How can you deny God, when you were dead and He gave you life, then He will put you to death, then He will bring you to life, then to Him you will be returned?

29. It is He who created for you everything on earth, then turned to the heaven, and made them seven heavens. And He is aware of all things.

30. When your Lord said to the angels, “I am placing a successor on earth.” They said, “Will You place in it someone who will cause corruption in it and shed blood, while we declare Your praises and sanctify You?” He said, “I know what you do not know.”

Quran
2 The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)

(Following up)

16. Those are they who have bartered error for guidance; but their trade does not profit them, and they are not guided[Those are they who have given in exchange bias intended for guidance; except their trade does not make it them just the same as they thought, and they are not guided].

17. Their likeness is that of a person who kindled a fire; when it illuminated all around him, God took away their light, and left them in darkness, unable to see[Their approximation is that of a human being who kindled a fire; by the time it illuminated all of things around him, God took away their existing burning light, and left them in exceeding darkness, unable to see any object].

18. [Deaf, dumb, besides, blind. They will not return.]Deaf, dumb, blind. They will not return.

19. Or like a cloudburst from the sky, in which is darkness, and thunder, and lightning. They press their fingers into their ears from the thunderbolts, in fear of death. But God surrounds the disbelievers[Or exactly like a cloudburst coming from the sky, in which is darkness, and rumbling besides lightning. They extend their fingers straight into their ears from the jarring rumbles, in excessive fear of death. But God surrounds the disbelievers].

20. [The lightning snatches nearly their vision away. Whenever it illuminates for them, they begin to walk among it; excepting that once it turns just dark over them, they stand still. Had God willed, He could have expropriated their faculty of hearing combined with their sight. God is capable of everything.]The lightning almost snatches their sight away. Whenever it illuminates for them, they walk in it; but when it grows dark over them, they stand still. Had God willed, He could have taken away their hearing and their sight. God is capable of everything.

21. O people! Worship your Lord who created you and those before you, that you may attain piety[O human beings! Extol your merciful Lord who created you and those just before, that you may perhaps attain extreme impeccability].

22. [He who made the earth a habitat geared toward you, along with the sky a curtain, sends water downward from the sky, and brings out exorbitant amounts of fruits thereby, just as a meals for you. Axiomatically, do not establish opponents to God by the time you know.]He who made the earth a habitat for you, and the sky a structure, and sends water down from the sky, and brings out fruits thereby, as a sustenance for you. Therefore, do not assign rivals to God while you know.

23. And if you are in doubt about what We have revealed to Our servant, then produce a chapter like these, and call your witnesses apart from God, if you are truthful[And wherever you are in doubt regarding what We have exhibited to Our servant, soon after make a chapter of subject the same as these, and call your faux witnesses apart from God, presupposing you are truthful].

24. But if you do not—and you will not—then beware the Fire whose fuel is people and stones, prepared for the disbelievers[But providing you do not—and you will not—then beware the burning fire whose fuel is extreme evil people and stones of junk, accommodated especially for the disbelievers].

25. And give good news to those who believe and do righteous deeds; that they will have gardens beneath which rivers flow[And give exhilarating words and messages to those who believe profoundly and do righteous deeds; that they will have gardens beneath which rivers unceasingly flow]. Whenever they are provided with fruit therefrom as sustenance, they will say, “This is what we were provided with before,” and they will be given the like of it. And they will have pure spouses therein, and they will abide therein forever[Whenever theyare exceptionally provided with fruit therefrom just as meals, next they will announce, “This is what we were being provided with before,” and they will be given the resembling of it. And next they will have pure spouses therein, and they will abide therein enjoyably at all times].

26. God does not shy away from making an example of a gnat, or something above it. As for those who believe, they know that it is the Truth from their Lord. But as for those who disbelieve, they say, “What did God intend by this example?” He leads astray many thereby, and He guides many thereby; but He misleads thereby only the evildoers[God does not shy away from making an example of a tiny gnat, or something above it. Regarding those who believe, they in fact know that it is the lack of deceit from their Lord. But regarding those who disbelieve, they say, “What did God intend by this example?” He directs astray many accordingly, and He guides the journey as for many because of this; but God misleads exclusively the bad people by doing this].

27. Those who violate God’s covenant after its confirmation, and sever what God has commanded to be joined, and commit evil on earth. These are the losers[Those who violate God’s treaty of alliance after its corroboration, and sever what God has exceptionally commanded to be joined, and commit evil resting on earth. These are the losers of course].

28. How can you deny God, when you were dead and He gave you life, then He will put you to death, then He will bring you to life, then to Him you will be returned[How can you deny God, at the time surely you were dead and God
gave you life, next He will make you to death, on top of that He will bring you to life, then you will be come again to God]?

29. It is He who created for you everything on earth, then turned to the heaven, and made them seven heavens. And He is aware of all things[It is He who brought into existence especially for you everything on earth, then turned to the heaven, and unobjectionably made them seven heavens. And He expressly is aware of all things].

30. When your Lord said to the angels, “I am placing a successor on earth.” They said, “Will You place in it someone who will cause corruption in it and shed blood, while we declare Your praises and sanctify You?” He said, “I know what you do not know.”[By the time your Lord noted to the angels, “I am placing a successor on earth.” They said, “Will You place in it someone who will bring extortion and also jobbery, at the same time as we express admiration for You?” He blurted, “I have knowledge what you do not ascertain.”]
