The Rig Veda
Ralph T.H. Griffith, Translator

Book 1
HYMN I. Agni.

1 I Laud Agni, the chosen Priest, God, minister of sacrifice,
The hotar, lavishest of wealth.
2 Worthy is Agni to be praised by living as by ancient seers.
He shall bring hitherward the Gods.
3 Through Agni man obtaineth wealth, yea, plenty waxing day by day,
Most rich in heroes, glorious.
4 Agni, the perfect sacrifice which thou encompassest about
Verily goeth to the Gods.
5 May Agni, sapient-minded Priest, truthful, most gloriously great,
The God, come hither with the Gods.
6 Whatever blessing, Agni, thou wilt grant unto thy worshipper,
That, Aṅgiras, is indeed thy truth.
7 To thee, dispeller of the night, O Agni, day by day with prayer
Bringing thee reverence, we come
8 Ruler of sacrifices, guard of Law eternal, radiant One,
Increasing in thine own abode.
9 Be to us easy of approach, even as a father to his son:
Agni, be with us for our weal.

The Rig Veda
Ralph T.H. Griffith, Translator

Book 1
HYMN I. Agni.

(In other words)
1 In the first place, I laud Agni, the big name Priest, God, reverend of immolation, the respectful hotar, and grandest of belongings.
2 Worthy is Agni to be eulogised by existing men and women, the same as to be glorified by a lot of age-old diviners.
He shall take hitherward the Gods.
3 More namely, using Agni, human race bringeth quickly wealth, assuredly, plenty waxing day by day, most abundant heroes, glorious and majestic.

4 Agni, the awesome sacrifice which thou compriseth about absolutely goeth to the Gods.

(Gathering the shaded letters above)
The first name is green. The second and third names are brick red. And the last name is blue.

The Rig Veda

Book 1
HYMN I. Agni.

1 I Laud Agni, the chosen Priest, God, minister of sacrifice[I justly acclaim Agni, the chosen Pastor, the Creator, minister of extraordinary immolation],
[The intelligent hotar, and fulsomest of belongings.]The hotar, lavishest of wealth.*
2 Worthy is Agni to be praised by living as by ancient seers[Worthy is Agni to be indeed eulogised by the existing men and women, and just the same as to be often exceptionally glorified by a lot of age-old diviners].
[Agni means to bring off hitherward the Gods.]He shall bring hitherward the Gods.
3 Through Agni man obtaineth wealth, yea, plenty waxing day by day[More namely, by dint of Agni human being getteth untold wealth, of course, plenty waxing day by day],
Most rich in heroes, glorious[Most rich in heroes, glorious and majestic].
4 [Agni, the immaculate sacrifice which thou encompassest excitedly around]Agni, the perfect sacrifice which thou encompassest about
[As a matter of fact goeth to the Gods.]Verily goeth to the Gods.
5 May Agni, sapient-minded Priest, truthful, most gloriously great[May possibly Agni, intelligent Pastor, unembellished, furthermost fantastically eminent],
The God, come hither with the Gods[The God, bring off hither accompanied by the Gods].
6 Whatever blessing, Agni, thou wilt grant unto thy worshipper[Every single one of rather exceptionally personal favor and blessing, Agni, thou wilt justly affirm unto the sincere and thoughtful adorer and supporter],
[That, Aṅgiras, is exactly thy dependability and meticulousness.]That, Aṅgiras, is indeed thy truth.**
7 To thee, dispeller of the night, O Agni, day by day with prayer[To thee, obliterator of the night, O Agni, day by day in company with prayer]
Bringing thee reverence, we come[Bringing thee exaltation and paying homage, we unobjectionably come to]
8 Ruler of sacrifices, guard of Law eternal, radiant One[Master of the extraordinary oblations, guard of Law for ever and ever, shining and illuminated One],
Increasing in thine own abode[Intensifying within the bounds of thine own lodgings].
9 [And make us easy and straightforward of approach, exactly like a father to his son:]Be to us easy of approach, even as a father to his son:
[Agni, be with us for our major achievements.]Agni, be with us for our weal.
