Hymn to the Nile

Chapter IX
   
It is with the words that he penetrates into his dwelling;
he issues forth at his pleasure through the magic spells.  
Thy unkindness brings destruction to the fish;
it is then that prayer is made for the (annual) water of the season;
Southern Egypt is seen in the same state as the North.
Each one is with his instruments of labour,
none remains behind his companions.
None clothes himself with garments,
the children of the noble put aside their ornaments.
The night remains silent,
but all is changed by the inundation;
it is a healing-balm for all mankind.

尼羅河頌

第九章

他說著話進入自己的屋子，
只要他高興，就從自己的殿中出行。
而你的憤怒就是魚類的毀滅；
人們需要水，就向你懇求：
“讓我們看見底比斯省區像三角洲；
讓我們看見人手一件工具；
無人被同行者撇下而掉隊。
[否則，]穿衣的將不復有衣衫，
讓高貴者的後代沒有飾品，
夜裡也無法集會敬拜群神。 ”
而他的回答是是清涼的河水，
給人們富足豐盛。

he issues forth at his pleasure through the magic spells[then and there he brings forth at his exhilaration and jubilation by means of the exceedingly magic words].  
Thy unkindness brings destruction to the fish[Thy hardheartedness and mercilessness brings slaying to the fish];
it is then that prayer is made for the (annual) water of the season[and it in truth is at the time that godly prayer is being annually made for the purpose of the going on flooding of the period];
Southern Egypt is seen in the same state as the North[Southern Egypt is examined among the same state as of a nature that the good North].
Each one is with his instruments of labour[Every single one of the men is with his own accouterments of job, assignment, task together with exertion],
none remains behind his companions[not a one has being a good way off from his neighbors and also workmates].
None clothes himself with garments[Nobody flings on with nightgowns and garments],
the children of the noble put aside their ornaments[the children of the recognised noble deposit their luxuriant ornaments].
The night remains silent[The night goofs off enjoyably calm as well as extraordinarily lowered or a kind of overly wordless],
but all is changed by the inundation[nevertheless all of that is being rotated by means of the big flood];
it is a healing-balm for all mankind[it is a rather necessary healing-balm en route for every single one of the individuals].
