Buddha Pronounces the Sutra of Maitreya Bodhisattva's Attainment of Buddhahood

Part Thirty

“Maitreya Bodhisattva, together with 84,000 Brahmins, will go to this bodhimaṇḍa. To renounce family life and to learn the Way, He will shave off his own hair. He will renounce family life in the morning and, that evening, will subjugate the four kinds of māras and attain anuttara-samyak-saṁbodhi. He will then speak in verse:

Part Thirty

"And at that time Maitreya Bodhisattva, in the company of 84,000 Brahmins, shall come to this bodhimaṇḍa. With regards to alienate home as well as to live learn the way of doing things, Maitreya Bodhisattva need his hair make bare. Next He will alienate home in the course of the morning, moreover, so as evening at the same day, will subjugate, tame as well as intimidate the quartet kinds of māras besides being achieve anuttara-samyak-saṁbodhi. Maitreya Bodhisattva will next imply and convey in verse like this:

As can be seen from the above, "Maitreya Bodhisattva" and "Messiah" are intertwined for the seventh time in this chapter.

Maitreya Bodhisattva will renounce family life in the morning and, that evening, will subjugate the four kinds of māras and result in anuttara-samyak-saṁbodhi. At the time He will certainly cite and phrase in verse:
