Buddha Pronounces the Sutra of Maitreya Bodhisattva's Attainment of Buddhahood
Translated from Sanskrit into Chinese in the Yao Chin Dynasty
by The Tripitaka Master Kumarajiva from Kucha

Part Thirty Eight

Without a Buddha,
Innumerable, countless years have passed in waste,
And sentient beings have gone down the evil life-paths.
When the eye of the world is gone,
The three evil life-paths will widen and expand,
And the road to heaven will be blocked.

Today a Buddha has appeared in the world.
The three evil life-paths will be annihilated,
And the multitude of gods and humans will increase.
We pray that He will open the Sweet Nectar Door,
Enabling the minds of sentient beings not to cling,
But to attain nirvāṇa quickly.

笔者之所以说“不容易”，是因为首先就遇到了“鸿钧老道”所预谋的一系列的陷阱。原来，上帝所创立的“道”，已经被他篡改的面目全非。他们所谓的“道”，竟然就像老鼠会似的，虽然偷偷摸摸，却也大行其道，无论中外。而他在六万四千年前到了的近地球的某星球，行妖法将那里的女王和她的丈夫残害，并使那里的人相信他是上帝。在宇宙中广为存在的狮子精、狐狸精、蜘蛛精、蝎子精、蛇精、蛤蟆精、老鼠精、小老鼠精、完完全全改造体的老鼠精（来自那个星座），以及老鼠精的亲朋好友 -- 即所有的毒虫（包括蜈蚣精），这十种妖邪竟然都臣服于这个妖道；除此之外，还有湿毒、阴毒、荼毒、尸毒、蛊毒、邪毒、放射毒、食物中毒等等，可以想象，上帝要与它们这些毒、邪一个个地作斗争，是多么地不容易。
特别是，妖道的徒子徒孙们采用了一种被他们叫做“熬鹰”的办法，一方面一口一个“道祖”地叫着，另一方面却是对道祖的四天四夜或是三天三夜的连续、无休止的捧杀，妄图以此迫使他们所称的“道祖”在昏昏沉沉中服从他们的意志和安排。但是道祖识破了他们的阴谋或者是阳谋，进行了一场场殊死的斗争并取得胜利 -- 实属不易。


在以下的解读中，注意弥赛亚Messiah这个词是否会被提到；并直观地领悟什么是偈子。

Part Thirty Eight

Without a Buddha,
Numberless, myriad hours just have become obsolutely wasteful,
The noxious and scabrous life-paths have been gone through for sentient beings.
When the eye of the world is gone,
The three evil life-paths will surely widen and expand,
And the road to heaven will be frighteningly blocked.

Today a Buddha has explicitly appeared to the world.
The three evil life-paths will be certainly creamed,
And the multitude of gods and humans will increase.
We pray that He will in a jiff snap formally the Sweet Nectar Door,
Enabling the minds of sentient beings not to cling,
But to expeditiously fathom and bring about nirvāṇa.
